soooo dreamy.
I LOVE cold brew. I am one of those -30 sipping cold brew kinda gals.
Whats cold brew?
thought you would never ask. Cold brew, is pretty much iced coffee but different. Not as bitter and has way more flavour and caffeine to it.
Iced coffee is pretty straight forward. Pour hot coffee over ice and call it a day.
COLDBREW on the other hand is refreshing, thirst quenching, make your knees weak kinda love!
Why is it so good. Well it takes time.... All good things take time....
18-24 hours to be exact! Yup. You better plan this one out.
The coffee never goes through dramatic temperature changes, which allows the true flavors to brew and reduces the acidity.
Okay enough blabbing , lets carry on.
HOMEBREW COLDBREW
1 cup of ground coffee.
7 cups of water
18-24 hours of time.
In a clean pitcher or seal-able jar (I have a seal-able jar from ikea) pour 7 cups of cold water in.
Okay now grab the ground coffee and put 1 cup of it in! I know this seems extreme but I promise its worth it.
If you have to grind your own beans, cool. Leave them a little bigger so its makes straining easier. If you don't have beans and just have grinds, perfect works the same.
Seal up the jar and throw it in the fridge. Rub it for good luck.
After 18 hours drain out the grinds.
I used a metal bowl and a tea strainer I had laying around.
Once drained rinse the jar and pour it all back into the clean jar.
Pour 1 cup of brew over ice, and ADD upto 1 cup water or your milk of choice.
YES you add water when you go to make a bevy.
So that 7 cups of cold brew is ACTUALLY 14 cups!!
Winning! Now that 1 cup of grinds ain't so bad!
throw it back into the fridge. Its good up to 2 weeks!
I promise you, once you try it you'll be hooked.
ENJOY
xx
